This pretty much goes without saying, but Youngstown is known for its pizza. We’re sure you’ve had more than your share of debates with friends and family about who has the best slice in the area, and may have compromised a few relationships in the process (just kidding...

We can only do so much. That’s the challenge most people deal with on a daily basis. While we give and give and give, we find it's just not enough for the world around us. We try to do more than we are supposed to instead of focusing on simply doing what we are supposed to. Maybe it's because we're looking for the praise of someone in our lives or our 30 seconds of fame on social media. Or maybe it's because we're trying to get that bonus or promotion from our boss as a “Go Getter.” Or maybe, just maybe, it...

Michael Merdich, our Digital Integration Intern in the Summer Semester, has been extended through the Fall Semester as he continues pursuing his degree from Youngstown State University. During his time with us in the summer, Michael demonstrated his knowledge and talent in web development and SEO, and has earned the trust of our team and clients. He has been a perfect fit for our team, and has done an excellent job working alongside our Digital Integrations Specialists, Ryan and Brady. We are excited to have Michael back for another semester!...

To celebrate National Hot Dog Day, which falls on the third Wednesday of every July, the 898 Marketing team decided to sample some of the most popular hot dog shoppes in the area. JibJab Hot Dogs and Jay’s Famous Hot Dogs are two local favorites, and have been for decades, so they were two perfect places to celebrate the day. Naturally, our team was not disappointed, as the two iconic restaurants left our stomachs full, tastebuds satisfied, and for some, feeling a little nostalgic for those post-baseball game hot dogs from little league. Here is our review of the two...

I’m not a person who likes to acknowledge or discuss losses. I have an older brother, and sports and competition were a huge part of my childhood. I hate to lose. I don’t like participation trophies, and I don’t believe the philosophy that you play to have fun. To quote one of my favorite Twitter follows, former ESPN analyst and current Arizona State head football coach, Herman Edwards, “You play to win the game!”    A few months ago, I submitted several entries on behalf of our agency to Ad Age’s Small Agency Awards. We entered categories including Best Agency and Best...

The West Coast is home to some of the most popular fast food chains in America, most notably In-N-Out Burger. While places like In-N-Out are incredibly well-known across the United States, their reach does not extend deep into the midwest, leaving many people in places like ours left without options to enjoy these types of burgers. Thankfully, we have Sespe Burger on Market Street, bringing the traditional West Coast-style fast food burger to our own backyard in Youngstown. So, before you buy that ticket and hop on the next flight to California, take a drive to Boardman and enjoy a...

On June 15th, 898 Marketing officially announced the hiring of former Graphic Design Intern Madeleine Abrigg as our newest full-time Creative Designer. While at Mount Union, Madeleine served as Vice President of the Art Club, worked in the Marketing office, helped the Purple Raiders football team as a Graphic Designer, and taught yoga and meditation...

Is this it?  Is this all life has to offer now?  Many of us have asked this as our world, both our own personal bubble and collective society, is shaken to its core.  While news media outlets, social media and outward signs of expressions from people of all opinions cloud our feeds and freedoms, we are left asking what will become of our lives?  What will become of our country?  While we ask these questions, we find comfort in the fact that our core guiding principles of this country were founded on one thing: a belief that we can have...

I've always found weightlifting as a great parallel to life. Life, like weightlifting, takes consistency and doing things with proper form and full repetitions. In real life, cutting corners will leave you disappointed in your results or even hurt. Personal records are something people strive for in weightlifting, as well as in life. You follow a plan and test yourself by getting under the bar and seeing what you have. There are three things that can happen under that bar. First, you complete the rep with little to no resistance. Congrats! All of your training and hard work paid off....
