More Than Just a Number
In 1983 at just three years old, our founder and owner, Jeff Ryznar’s grandfather, pulled him aside and told him to point to any three numbers on a card. He pointed to 8-9-8. From that day forward, his grandfather played those numbers in the lottery every day, investing the winnings for a something bigger.

Ten years later, his grandfather revealed to Jeff what he had been doing for the last decade. He told his grandson he wanted him to use this money to start his own business when he turned 16 as a reminder of three things…
- We all have gifts.
- We should use them to serve others.
- If done well, someone will invest in you to use those gifts to make a living.
However, four days before Jeff’s 16th birthday, his grandfather passed away. And that day was the beginning of 898 Marketing.
