A Day in the Life as an 898 Marketing Intern

Driving to the first day of my marketing internship at 898 Marketing was both exciting and nerve wracking. I was eager to enter into a new opportunity and get to know the ins and outs of what goes on in a professional marketing agency.

Little did I know, those first-day-nerves and excitement would turn into an amazing internship that provided me with so much knowledge, experience, and confidence. Being an intern at 898 was such an amazing experience for both my professional and personal journey. Here are the aspects of my day to day life at 898 that have helped prepare me for a full-time career in marketing.

 

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

At 898 Marketing, I had the pleasure of working with such an amazing, supportive team. Teamwork and communication is everything at 898. Each day consists of constant communication with teammates to get tasks done as efficiently and effectively as possible. One of the major skills I learned at 898 was staying organized while handling multiple tasks.

This internship has taught me that time management, the ability to assign priority levels, and juggling projects are very important factors of being efficient at an agency. I love that there is always an opportunity to provide input to team members, as well as ask for help when I’m feeling stuck.

Working in an agency environment has given me so much comfort knowing that there is a great team around me always willing to help. I truly feel that the team has my back every step of the way!

 

Everyday is a New Day

At 898, I get to do something new everyday! One of my absolute favorite parts of the internship is that I get to be a part of so many different sectors of marketing such as creative design, social media, web development, branding, copywriting, SEO, and account management.

The internship allowed me to not only work in areas that I was comfortable with and had prior experience in, but it also allowed me to try out marketing services that I’ve never dealt with before. When I was interested in trying something new, there was no shortage of support from the 898 team to help get me on board. I can confidently say that my range of marketing skills has significantly increased since joining the 898 team.   

 

The Client Comes First

One of the main priorities of 898 is making clients happy by not just meeting their expectations, but exceeding them. Keeping consistent communication with clients to manage timelines, brand consistency, and deliverables are crucial to creating a successful client relationship.

Everyday has at least some sort of client communication, and it all helps to ensure a smooth process. Having the opportunity to sit in on client meetings has given me a great perception of what happens on the B2B side of operations. I’ve loved working with such a wide range of clients in so many different industries.

 

My Marketing Internship Takeaways & Advice

As my internship comes to an end, I am incredibly grateful for the experience, the people, and the guidance 898 Marketing has provided me with. 898 is a team through and through, and I am truly excited to come into the office and work with such a talented, dedicated team everyday. I can confidently say that this is the best an internship can get! Everyday gives me opportunities to do the things I love, while also pushing me out of my comfort zone to try new things.

Getting to work on real projects for real companies has put me on the fast track to understanding what a full-time marketing career would look like.

My advice to anyone interested in pursuing an internship at 898 would be to take advantage of the people and resources around you that are willing to help you get the most out of your experience! While it may be tempting to stick to areas that you are comfortable with, don’t be afraid to try new things— that’s what an internship is for!

There are endless opportunities to try new things and 898 will always be happy to support and assist you. The ability to widen your collection of marketing skills is highly valuable, and 898 wants to see you succeed. I am extremely grateful for my internship experience and I am confident that what I’ve learned will help launch me into my professional career.
