About this Project
Mill Creek MetroPark was established in 1891 by Volney Rogers as the first park district in Ohio located in Youngstown. In 1989, the diverse lands now known as Mill Creek MetroParks officially became a metropolitan park district, providing visitors of all ages the opportunity to relish “the gem” of Mahoning County. From the casual visitor to the local explorer, Mill Creek MetroParks offers a natural escape and recreational activities for the enjoyment of all ages. It was the desire to represent a fresh perspective and brand that would appeal to a new patron that spurred the involvement of 898 Marketing.

Client Request
In 2014, Mill Creek MetroParks partnered with 898 Marketing to develop a new marketing strategy for the park that would deliver an updated brand, economically drive engagements within the park and develop a strategy embracing digital, social and online channels to speak to a more connected audience.

  • Website Development
  • Video Production
  • Social Media, Email Marketing and Lead Generation Strategy

The new campaign exceeded goals in increasing email opt-ins, social media following as well as increasing benchmarks for park attendance and usage. The new online home for Mill Creek MetroParks doubled the amount of visitors within the first year and the new creative was carried over when the park implemented a new director. The park continues to be a place where residents come to, “Explore, Experience and Enjoy.”

"898 Marketing not only delivered a fresh perspective to the brand of Mill Creek MetroParks but, through strategic consulting, provided business strategies that not only improved operations but drove deeper, more meaningful relationships with the residents of the Mahoning Valley and the MetroParks. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a different approach to marketing and business development solutions to consider 898 Marketing at the top of your list."
