For over 65 years, The Cafaro Company, has been a national company renowned for its real estate development achievements coast to coast. As the country's largest independent retail mall developer, Cafaro Company's current portfolio encompasses more than 50 projects totaling more than 30 million square feet of retail space. Since being founded in 1949, it has been a company focused on knowing and serving the markets with retailers they knew the people needed and wanted. This philosophy was something they felt they could embrace through social media and partnered with 898 Marketing to deliver social media training to their 12 mall properties across the country.

Client Request
As customer buying behaviors became more influenced by social media, The Cafaro Company challenged 898 Marketing to develop a social media training and educational curriculum to evaluate and elevate the social media acumen of their mall marketing and management teams. The course had to both speak to and evaluate varying levels of social media expertise among their team members, as well as develop training modules to "graduate" everyone to an advanced knowledge of social channels and how they can grow relationships and promotional efforts on a daily basis. With 12 participating malls scattered across the country and over 35 professionals, the program had to be effective, educational and efficient for everyone.

Over the four month program, 12 mall properties within the Cafaro Company portfolio, all successfully managed, developed and tracked performance of their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest social channels. Furthermore, the curriculum developed successfully assisted in raising the awareness and acumen of team members to advanced levels with additional opportunities to continue their development in this space. More importantly, malls saw month over month increases in engagement rates, followers and activity on channels, further advancing the success of the mall properties in growing their relationships with their most valued asset - their shoppers.
