89Ate- A West Coast Burger Experience at Sespe Burger

The West Coast is home to some of the most popular fast food chains in America, most notably In-N-Out Burger. While places like In-N-Out are incredibly well-known across the United States, their reach does not extend deep into the midwest, leaving many people in places like ours left without options to enjoy these types of burgers. Thankfully, we have Sespe Burger on Market Street, bringing the traditional West Coast-style fast food burger to our own backyard in Youngstown. So, before you buy that ticket and hop on the next flight to California, take a drive to Boardman and enjoy a burger from Sespe!

The Menu

The first thing you’ll probably notice about Sespe Burger is how simplified the menu is. While some may find this limiting, I really appreciated it. It didn’t overwhelm me or try to be something that it’s not. It is, of course, a restaurant that is known for its burgers and sandwiches, and the menu reflects that, as it features single and double patty options, as well as a number of classic sandwiches as its main draw. There are also options for people who want something other than a burger, such as breakfast burritos and loaded fries, but the menu doesn’t overdo it. It’s small. It’s simple. It knows what it specializes in, and I really appreciate the way it’s structured.

The Food

Let me just say: the single from Sespe is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. It’s everything you think of when you picture the perfect burger: a juicy patty topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and Thousand Island dressing. Much like the restaurant’s menu, the classic toppings and condiments make it “just right,” and it’s also just enough food too. I didn’t walk away from my meal feeling absolutely stuffed, or still hungry. The fries, while being a traditional companion for any burger, are taken up a notch by adding one simple ingredient: pepper. It may sound like a basic addition, but the pepper gives the fries their own unique flavor that, much like the burger, won’t have you forgetting this restaurant any time soon.

Sespe Burger on Market Street offers a burger experience that is “just right” for everyone. The simplified menu makes choosing your meal easy, but you don’t need to look too deep into this menu to find something that’s perfect for you. The burgers, the restaurant’s main attraction, are simple and packed with flavor. The fries compliment the burger in an incredibly unique way that will have you coming back for more. So, why even bother planning a trip to the West Coast when you have Sespe Burger right here in town? We highly recommend Sespe Burger to any burger lover, so head down Market Street the next chance you get. Be sure to share and comment about your experience using #89Ate.
